Parthenogenetic (unisexual) taxon with hybrid origin: parental taxa are D. valentini (paternal lineage) and D. mixta (maternal lineage) (Murphy et al., 2000). Habitats and range strongly overlap with those of D. valentini, althouth D. armeniaca is usually more numerous.
